A collection of moisturizing hand sanitizers that are available in three different formats. Florham Park, NJ – WWP Beauty, a global full-service supplier that provides future-focused solutions to the global beauty industry including a complete range of stock and custom packaging, formulation, accessories, design and engineering, has launched a Personal Protection line in response to the heightened demand for hygienic products brought on by the COVID-19 crisis. True to the company’s position as a comprehensive products and packaging provider, the collection is comprised of hand sanitizers that are ready-to-go and available in three formats: gel, wipes and spray. These three formats give brands more flexibility on incorporating a PPE product into their existing lineup. WWP’s Personal Protection line includes: Hand Sanitizer Spray – This innovative liquid spray hand sanitizer is housed in an aluminum bag-on-Valve component made with PCR content. Its soothing formula moisturizes the skin with glycerin and aloe vera, and kills up to 99.9% of most common germs and bacteria. This uniquely packaged product is currently available in 2.7oz and 5.5oz containers. Hand Sanitizing Wipes - An ultra-convenient way to reduce the spread of germs, especially in on-the-go scenarios where handwashing isn’t immediately possible. Unlike typical hand sanitizers, which can cause dry skin, the pre-moistened wipes feature a skin-nourishing formula infused with olive oil, glycerin and aloe leaf extract that effectively clean, moisturize and soothe dry hands. Currently available in 10 x 8cm or 20 x 15cm sheets in packs of 30 or 100. Gel Hand Sanitizer - Gel is the most common form of sanitizer, and what many consumers prefer to use. The company’s PPE Collection features two hydrating gel sanitizer formulas, one of which is made in China* and another that is made in the US. Both formulas are currently available in 2oz and 8oz flip top bottles, an 8oz and liter sized dip tube pump, and a gallon sized screw cap jug. “The new PPE collection showcases WWP Beauty’s ability to address sudden, dramatically heightened product demand while remaining true to our roots as a beauty company,” said Josh Kirschbaum, CEO. “We like to think of the new product line as personal protection meets personal care – with the end goal of making it easier than ever for a brand to add a PPE product to their line.” *Kills up to 99.9% of most common germs and bacteria. ### About WWP Beauty WWP LLC provides the cosmetics and personal care industries with a complete range of packaging components, custom and stock molding, and product development and sales. Pact, supplier of promising fire suppres...
Company’s Thermo Shield™ is a 100% recyclable wrap solution that exceeds proposed SAE G27 lithium battery packaging performance standards for air, land & sea. Waterbury, CT – PACT, LLC, an innovator of packaging and crating technologies, has joined the Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles (COSTHA), a not-for-profit industry association devoted to promoting dangerous goods transportation compliance both domestically and abroad. PACT’s acceptance to the organization comes following the successful launch of its Thermo Shield™, a paper-based, fire-resistant shipping wrap designed to prevent catastrophes caused by battery explosions during transport. Thermo Shield™ utilizes a revolutionary technology that actively and automatically cools the internal environment of a corrugated container. The 100% recyclable protective logistics product prevents damage to the outside shipping container, suppresses fumes or gasses from escaping, and limits external oxygen supply. The solution aligns with COSTHA’s mission of providing guidance and support for the shipping of potentially dangerous items. Among other services, the organization provides mission-critical regulatory information via code books (49 CFR, ADR, UN Orange Book, IATA, ICAO, IMDG), and other regulatory compliance tools. COSTHA also encourages shipping safety mentorship as part of quality personnel professional development and, through this enhanced instruction, heightened standards for handling and transporting hazardous materials. Comprising a lightweight pleated material with a non-toxic moisture vapor application that ensures the safety of lithium-ion products in transport, Thermo Shield™ can suppress thermal runaway and propagation at temperatures up to 800°C, and restrict the temperature outside the wrap itself to 80°C. In doing so, it addresses an important industry need: according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), a lithium battery explosion occurs during shipping once every 10 days. Further, the majority of cells or battery packs are produced in Asia, leading to long transit times when shipping to the Western Hemisphere. COSTHA represents a wide variety of shippers, carriers, manufacturers, trade associations, training companies, and related businesses and associations. Its efforts include advocating for domestic and international regulatory harmonization, uniform enforcement, and the review and realignment of regulations based on risk during transport. It is this final criteria – risk during transport – in which Thermo Shield™ shines. The new solution is the only paper-based wrap solution that exceeds the proposed SAE G27 lithium battery packaging performance standards for safety in shipping via air, land and sea. The shipper also is lightweight and reusable, lending to cost efficiency both at initial purchase and during use. “Joining COSTHA ensures that PACT stays on the forefront of knowing and understanding all hazardous materials transportation compliance regulations.” said Rodger Mort, President of PACT, LLC. “It also allows us to offer our own insight regarding the role of innovation in improving transport safety.” For more information about Thermo Shield™, visit www.pactthermoshield.com. ### About PACT PACT is a US-based packaging and crating company providing complete off-the-shelf and custom solutions for the industrial, moving, shipping, and storage industries. With over 25 years of experience, PACT has designed such popular industry solutions as the J-Crate, Liftvan, and Pleatwrap. In order to meet the growing need for battery shipment safety, PACT used their expertise in shipping protection to develop the patented technology for Thermo Shield¯ fire suppressant wrap that consists of a lightweight pleated material with a non-toxic moisture vapor application that ensures the safety of lithium-ion products in transport by suppressing the fire and shielding the surrounding environment. How brand owners can communicate sustainability performance more effectively Information: AMSTERDAM (August 26, 2020) – A new White Paper from Trivium Packaging examines the role of traditional Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools, and argues the case for a more holistic approach that reveals the wider impact of packaging materials on the waste stream and shelf life. With origins in the 1960s, existing LCAs form the basis of international standards such as ISO 14040, and are especially valuable when assessing CO2 emissions. Some issues arise around the use of different tools and varying methods of calculation, but LCAs remain an important tool for brand owners seeking to measure sustainability performance and engage with consumers. There is room for improvement, and Jenny Wassenaar, VP Sustainability at Trivium, said that the new White Paper highlights how brand owners could take the next step and show that their packaging is truly sustainable: “Cradle-to-Gate, Cradle-to-Grave, and Circular LCAs have a role to play, but a more comprehensive Holistic Packaging Sustainability Assessment could give brand owners even more compelling sustainability credentials. Such an assessment would take into account all aspects relating to circularity such as recycled content, recycling rate, intrinsic yield, and substitution of primary resources.” Real-world performance of packaging materials varies widely. For example, 80% of metal is recycled in Europe, but only 41% of plastics. Jenny underlined that steel and aluminum perform also particularly well when a wider view of recycling is adopted: “Metal packaging is infinitely recyclable without a loss of quality or downcycling, and recycling aluminum saves 95% of the energy required for primary production. We know that packaging is a valuable communication channel for encouraging consumers to recycle waste, and prominent logos such as the ‘Metal Recycles Forever’ logo are part of this.” A Holistic Packaging Sustainability Assessment would also take into account the ability to protect products during transportation, and the expected shelf life, and how these factors impact expected food waste. The White Paper is available for download at TriviumPackaging.com Notes to Editor: Trivium Packaging is a global supplier of infinitely recyclable, metal packaging for the world’s leading brands. The u.s. conveyor and conveying equipmen...
IndexBox has just published a new report: 'U.S. Conveyor And Conveying Equipment Market. Analysis And Forecast to 2025'. Here is a summary of the report's key findings. The COVID-Related Recession Is to Undermine the Growth of the Industrial Sector, Which Is to Hamper Conveyor Market Growth The U.S. conveyor and conveying equipment market expanded sharply to $10.8B in 2019, picking up by 5.1% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenue of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, taxes, and tariffs, which will be included in the final consumer price). The market value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the period from 2013 to 2019; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Over the last three years, it increased robustly, driven by the rising economy and investment. In physical terms, the market volume reached approx. 1.8M units, rising by +11.9%. Conveyors and conveying equipment, as the element of engineering infrastructure, are widely used in various industries and transport facilities. Therefore, the key factor determining the development of the market is the dynamics of the industrial sector, which, in a broader context, reflects the overall GDP growth. According to the World Bank outlook from January 2020, the U.S. economy was expected to slow down to +1.7% per year in the medium term, hampered by increasing global uncertainty, trade war, and slower global growth. In early 2020, however, the global economy entered a period of the crisis caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, due to which most countries in the world put on halt production and transport activity. The result will be a drop in GDP relative to previous years and an unprecedented decline in oil prices. The U.S. is struggling with a drastic short-term recession, with the expected contraction of GDP of approx. -6.1% in 2020, as the hit of the pandemic was harder than expected, and unemployment soared due to the shutdown and social isolation. The industrial sector has proven vulnerable to the pandemic as due to quarantine measures, industrial facilities were paused, and the drop in incomes of the population makes the growth of end markets unfeasible, thereby hampering any expansion of the industrial sector. Tight financial conditions and uncertainty regarding the length of the pandemic and the possible bottom of the related economic drop, as well as high volatility of financial markets, not to mention rising political tensions between the U.S. and China, disrupt capital investments in the immediate term, which is to put a drag on the conveyor market. In the medium term, should the pandemic outbreak end in the second half of 2020, the economy is to start recovering in 2021 and then return to the gradual growth, driven by the fundamentals existed before 2020 and boosted by support measures imposed by the government. Taking into account the above, it is expected that in 2020, the consumption of conveyors and conveying equipment will drop by approx. 6%. In the medium term, as the economy recovers from the effects of the pandemic, the market is expected to grow gradually, with an anticipated CAGR of +0.2% for the period from 2019 to 2030, which is projected to bring the market volume to 1.8M units by the end of 2030. Canada and Mexico Remain the Key Foreign Market for Conveyor and Conveying Equipment Exports from the U.S. In 2019, conveyor and conveying equipment exports amounted to $1.1B (IndexBox estimates) in 2019, decreasing for the second consecutive year. Canada ($383M), Mexico ($194M), and China ($58M) appeared to be the largest markets for conveyor and conveying equipment exported from the U.S. worldwide, together comprising 59% of total exports. Brazil, Chile, India, Italy, Viet Nam, Colombia, Spain, Hong Kong SAR, and Kuwait lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 11%. Viet Nam recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth. Conveyor and Conveying Equipment Imports into the U.S. Increased Robustly In value terms, conveyor and conveying equipment imports dropped slightly to $2.4B (IndexBox estimates) in 2019. In general, total imports indicated a strong growth from 2013 to 2019: its value increased at an average annual rate of +28.1% over the last six years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2019 figures, imports increased by +56.5% against 2013 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 37% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $2.4B in 2018 and then contracted in the following year. In value terms, the largest conveyor and conveying equipment suppliers to the U.S. were Canada ($544M), Germany ($352M), and Mexico ($209M), with a combined 47% share of total imports. Mexico saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth. Reifenhäuser group hands over cheqpacs ...
The Reifenhäuser Group is handing over the cheqpacs sustainability app to its previous development partner spacepilots, a Cologne-based digital agency. With cheqpacs, Reifenhäuser presented an evaluation tool in October 2019 that informs consumers about the resource efficiency, recyclability and recycled content after scanning a packaging. The app already has a large user group in Germany. Spacepilots will now implement the scaling and internationalization of the app. “With cheqpacs, we as a machine and system manufacturer have for the first time approached end consumers directly. We learned what consumers and retailers really want. That was very valuable, ”says Bernd Reifenhäuser, CEO of the Reifenhäuser Group. “Now is the time to develop this tool further outside of the plastics industry. Spacepilots can do that better. With the joint project R-Cycle we are instead concentrating on developing the standard for a functioning circular economy in the plastics industry together with other companies. " spacepilots sees great potential in cheqpacs. Christoph Bresler, CEO of spacepilots, says: “We want to make the results of the global sustainability initiatives transparent and understandable for every user. The app can help us because it hits a nerve in our society. In the coming months we want to expand the number of users and product data and publish cheqpacs in other countries. We are very much looking forward to further developing the tool.
