Integrated, automatic labeling system wraps labels onto vials. Filled and capped vials exit a fillercapper standing vertically. A short discharge chute delivers the vials backtoback to the labeling system. The vials transfer straight into the infeed chute of the labeling system. A consistent backlog "forces" the vials into the individual roller pockets of an indexing star wheel on the labeler.
A highlow sensor controls the application feed based on the amount of product backlog the backlog must be sufficient so as to push the product into the pocket. The horizontal starwheel rotates to present each vial to the labeler. A driven roller is located at the pocket stop position where the label will be applied. When triggered by a product sensor, the labeling head dispenses a label into the pocket while the driven roller rotates the vial. The label is applied and wiped down by the driven roller.
