a new policy aiming to standardize beverage labeling nationwide in china, specifically for bottled drinking water, has been unveiled in may 2015.according to the new standards, bottled water sold in china will be labeled as "purified bottled water" or "other drinking water. &ldquobottled water labeled as "energy water" or "functional water" will be banned from store shelves.there will also be a different made between "mineral spring water" and what is currently labeled as "mineral substance water," which refers to water that had minerals artificially added to it during the production process.the "mineral substance water" label will be banned because it can be confused with bottled water labeled as "mineral spring water."beverage conglomerate cocacola said it will comply with the new regulations. still, bottled water produced before the new regulations will be allowed to sell in china until jan. 1, 2016.
