The japanese business is due to unveil the machine, the jet press 720, at the show next week and will target it at the shortrun packaging production market. It is a b2format machine that will feature a new uv inkjet ink called vividia that, the company said in a statement, does not generate &lsquopile height&rsquo on the print surface that can reduce image quality and is often a characteristic of uv inkjet print. The uv ink is the key adaptation to the press to make it suitable for the carton printing market the machine is an adaptation of the jet press 720 that was first launched for the commercial printing market at drupa in 2008.
Fujifilm said in a statement that the press had the &ldquodual benefit of not only being able to reproduce ultrahigh quality images, but will also be better suited to handle the thicker paper and different post press operations that this market demands&rdquo.
