The tray features a polymer coating and injection moulded rim which, according to its maker, ensures a gas tight lid seal. It is also designed to work without a carton or sleeve yet still have strong onshelf impact and it can be produced in a number of customised shapes and colours, nicholl said.
Nicholl group chief executive john griffiths said the delight product was &ldquoa significant development as it meets a number of essential criteria to help achieve a product&rsquos success in highly competitive food markets&rdquo. &ldquoit looks attractive on shelf, is packed with user friendly features and offers a convenient readytoserve solution,&rdquo he said.
According to the company, delight containers are ovenable to 200°c in a conventional oven, fan oven or microwave and the tray is cool to the touch when removed from the oven. It can also be frozen to 40°c.
