Synerlink, the integrator of the packaging machine producer arcil, presents state of the art robotic solutions under the banner of the apriumtechnology that feature adept quattro robots from adept technology. Quattro robots, which were used to smoothly stack the cups of yogurts and other food products quickly before moving to multipacking or case packing, are extremely easy to deploy and to maintain.
Charlesantoine freiher, business unit manager of the apriumtechnology brand admits that, before they selected adept&rsquos quattro robot, they had considered other technology. He also said that, these robots have more flexibility to handle a wide range of product sizes and stacking arrangements with very little interruption for changeovers, compared to pneumatic stacking systems. Also, quattro was chosen because of its payload, speed and connectivity. Since, adept&rsquos programming language is open and omaccompatible, it is remarkably easy to integrate and maintain quattro. 20 quattro robots have been implemented in 8 plants over the past two years, mostly in europe and north america.
New production lines manufacturing dairy products in cups of size 1 oz. To 2.2 lb. Were the majority. The cups are stacked for multipacks and case packing, by robots, usually arranged two or four per line to attain the required throughput. The multipacks are in sizes that range from two to 24count and the cases that range from 16 to 48count. Freiher notes that, changeovers are achieved on quattro within the program, and settings for every product and stacking arrangement are saved in the robot&rsquos memory so that operators can quickly recall the correct settings upon changeovers.
Some changes are achieved completely automatic with no need for mechanical adjustments or change of parts. Other changes need the tool on the end of the robot&rsquos arm to be altered, which can be done in less than two minutes. Httpwww.packagingasia.comarticlepackagingcompanysynerlinkselectsadeptquattr…
