Nordic Firms Launch Groundbreaking Circular Packaging Solution at Stockholm Design Week

Four Nordic firms have teamed up to create a groundbreaking reusable and refillable consumer packaging system, paired with a circular order/return service aimed at reducing single-use plastic waste. The initiative, named På(fyll) – which translates to "pour fill" – was officially unveiled by Swedish design firm Form Us With Love (FUWL) in early September at Stockholm Design Week.

An important step in our sustainability work: Paulig introduces the first easy-open recyclable vacuum packaging for coffee

Paulig has been investing in new packaging lines at CarbonNeutral® certified Vuosaari Roastery. Starting from this spring, one third of 500-gram coffee packaging units will be produced on a new line at the roastery. Coffee packages that are manufactured on the new packaging line are easy to open without scissors as before. In addition, the new, longer resealing tape helps to reseal the coffee packaging.

Recyclable coffee packing supports Paulig's goal to have all packaging recyclable by the end of 2025.

Ahmedabad-based Boss Packaging Solutions, a business with 64 employees and a shabby 500 square yard office as seen on X (formerly Twitter) gets a jaw-dropping 135x IPO subscription, with bids worth ₹1,073 crore, and goes hot on the heels of Resourceful Automobile’s IPO frenzy.

This is despite market regulator Sebi warning investors on potential manipulation being seen in some SME IPOs, advising investors not to fall for social media tips or rumours.

McDonald’s is introducing a Mini McFlurry, new packaging

McDonald’s is giving its iconic McFlurry a bit of a makeover. On Sept. 10, the chain will introduce the Mini McFlurry at participating restaurants across the U.S., available alongside regular-sized McFlurrys. The company didn’t disclose the number of ounces in a mini, but McDonald’s website notes that there are 410 calories in a regular Oreo McFlurry versus 240 calories in a Mini McFlurry.

Aldi Introduces Recyclable Butter Packaging in a UK Supermarket First

From next month, the UK’s fourth-largest supermarket will replace the current non-recyclable packaging on block butter with a paper-based alternative wrap which can be recycled at home. 

The change will roll out on its Specially Selected West Country and Yorkshire block butter, helping to remove more than 10 tonnes of non-recyclable packaging from circulation each year.

Aldi also recently replaced the outer plastic wrap for its Everyday Essentials cheese singles with a new paper packaging. This change eliminated a further 23 tonnes of plastic waste annually.
