Two years of work, a dedicated team of highly specialized mechatronics engineers, and a new Hub dedicated to research, all these have given life to the Greenpackt project: a green pact between technology and environment to make the packaging industry 100% sustainable, and that makes Fameccanica a pioneering company in the industrialization and automation of the production of sustainable packaging for unit dose detergent products, and thus able to offer our clients the opportunity to have an integrated system, both machine and packaging together at the same time.

TIPA and Apiece Apart extend sustainable packaging partnership

US-based apparel brand APIECE APART has announced that it will only use fully compostable packaging developed by Israeli manufacturer TIPA.

The brand will continue to ship all its products in TIPA’s fully compostable polybags as it expands operations to meet the growing demand.

Since 2020, Apiece Apart has been using TIPA’s polybags to package goods at factories to ship to its warehouses, e-commerce customers and retail stores.

The transition has eliminated 133,825 conventional plastic polybags to date.

Emballator Innovation Center Tests Dynamic Shelf-Life Label With Innoscentia

Emballator Innovation Center, with the same desire on reducing food waste, got involved in the project during 2021 and have since then worked with migration tests of the label.

“Since it’s ink in the label it’s important that it doesn’t transfer any chemicals to the meat. We had to modify the tests to make it fit the reality, so it was quite tricky”, says Christian Olsson, Material Specialist at Emballator Innovation Center.

Single-Use Plastic Ban Partially Lifted: Maharashtra Allows Use of These Items

The action will come as a relief for producers of plastic goods, according to Pravin Darade. According to the secretary of the environment and climate change department (ECCD), allowing the production of single-use items made of biodegradable materials was already in demand. In 2018, the Maharashtra government outlawed single-use plastic.

BoxWay Packaging creates new direct-to-consumer delivery box with Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses

Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses is a fourth-generation family cheesemaker based in rural Lancashire. Butlers handmake British hard, blue and soft cheeses with milk from its own herd of cows and goats. Butlers launched an online cheese store in 2020 to provide a one-stop shop for cheese eating and gifting, delivering nationwide, direct from the dairy to your front door.

The challenge set for BoxWay Packaging was to design a new outer box that allowed for inside and outside printing to share messaging with customers that would both inform and build anticipation.

Tetra Pak South Africa joins Petco to drive liquid board packaging recycling

Tetra Pak’s membership starts on January 1.

The decision for Tetra Pak to join Petco was driven by the need for greater collaboration to improve the collection and recycling of LBP in South Africa.

Petco is noted to have a successful record in supporting recycling value chains in South Africa.

Petco will be administering an extended producer responsibility (EPR) scheme to cater for the LBP sector from January 1, in addition to the other EPR schemes already being offered by Petco.

Creative agency Hell Yeah! has created a new look squeezy bottle for sustainable condiment brand Rubies in the Rubble’s flagship ketchup product. 

The redesign, which is on shelf now, aims to premiumise the brand, enhance taste appeal and stand out in an incredibly competitive category.

Rubies in the Rubble produces delicious ketchups, mayos and relishes using surplus cosmetically imperfect ingredients, which would otherwise have gone to waste.
